SMWC FAQ

Well, here's the FAQ page. If you have any questions, hopefully this page will answer them.

Q: What is SMWC and what does it stand for?
A: SMWC stands for Super Mario World Comics, a sprite comic parodying Super Mario World, a game for the SNES by Nintendo

Q: Sprite comic? What's that?
A: Well, a sprite comic is a comic that uses the 2-d images in games from game consoles such as the NES, SNES, Genesis, GBA, etc. to make a comic with. SMWC happens to use the sprites and backgrounds from Super Mario World

Q: How do you get these sprites and backgrounds?
A: Well, sprites and backgrounds are obtained through captured screenshots from video games. Taking out the sprites and backgrounds out of a screenshot of a game is called ripping

Q: So did you rip the sprites and backgrounds?
A: No, I'm too lazy and don't have the time to do it. I go to reource sites such as The Spriters Resource, The Shyguy Kingdom, and The Background Headquarters and take pictures that have sprites and backgrounds put on them. These images are called sheets or sprite sheets.

Q: What is SMWC about?
A: SMWC is about Princess Peach getting kidnapped (What a shocker!) and Mario decides to set out on finding her, with the help of Luigi, Mario, and Rob the toad. The story is based on the story of SMW, but with my own twist

Q: Will there be any new characters introduced in the future?
A: Keep reading to find out ;)

Q: Does anybody else help you make this comic?
A: No, SMWC is all done by me. All of the writing and spriting are all thanks to me

Q: What program do you use to make your comics?
A: I use Adobe Photoshop CS. But just remember; you don't need any fancy-pants programs to make a good comic. You can stick with a basic program like MS Paint and make good ocmics. I started out with MS Paint and look at me now!

Q: How often do you update?
A: Whenever :P

Q: Are you affiliated with Nintendo?
A: No, I am not. This comic is my own, and it is only used for non-profit, non-Nintendo endorsed entertainment.

Q: I see a nav bar with links to forums, credits, and affiliates pages. What are these pages?
A: Well, the forums are the SMWC message boards, where the readers can communicate and socialize together. Feel free to join; we need new members anyway.

The Links & Affiliates page is the page where I post links to my "friend" sites. If you want to affiliate, just contact me. [DD users, go to the Contact page or PQ me or something]

The credits page gives credit to all of the rippers who have provided me with the sprites and backgrounds with SMWC. Most of the works of these rippers can be found at such sites like The Spriters Resource, The Shyguy Kingdom, and The Background Headquarters

Q: I see vote banners as well. Do you belong to a ranking list?
A: Yes, I belong to the Topwebcomics.com top 100 listings. Just vote for me to help me climb up the ranks.

Q: How can I contact you?
A: If you're using Drunk Duck, then go to the "Contact Me" page to see my contact info. For Smack Jeeves users, find one of my comments in the comics and click on my user name. You'll see my contact info from there. Just don't spam me or annoy me or I'll block you.

Q: Anything else you'd like to say?
A: Not much. Just vote daily and give me any constructive criticism that'll help me improve is all.

Please vote for SMWC daily!
